Prohibited & Restricted Items
What We Cannot Carry
For the safety of our drivers, customers and the public, certain items cannot be transported by Priority X.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all goods handed to Priority X are legal, safe to transport and accurately described when making a booking.
Prohibited Items
Unless specifically agreed by Priority X in writing before collection, we do not accept:
- Illegal goods or substances — including stolen, counterfeit or otherwise unlawfully possessed goods.
- Explosives — including fireworks, ammunition, detonators and explosive materials.
- Firearms and weapons — including firearms, ammunition and other regulated weapons.
- Dangerous or hazardous chemicals — including corrosive, toxic, highly flammable or otherwise hazardous substances.
- Radioactive materials.
- Controlled drugs and illegal substances.
- Live animals.
- Human remains.
- Cash and negotiable instruments — including significant quantities of cash, bearer bonds and similar instruments.
- Precious metals and stones — including bullion and loose precious stones.
- Exceptionally high-value jewellery.
- Goods requiring specialist regulated transportation that Priority X has not expressly agreed to carry.
- Any item that cannot legally or safely be transported in the vehicle provided.
Restricted, Fragile & High-Value Items
Some goods may not be prohibited but must be declared to Priority X before booking.
This includes:
- unusually high-value goods;
- fragile or irreplaceable items;
- sensitive electronic equipment;
- valuable artwork or collectibles;
- commercially sensitive items;
- liquids, chemicals or batteries that may be subject to transport restrictions;
- medical or laboratory materials;
- temperature-sensitive goods; and
- unusually large or heavy items requiring specialist handling.
We may request additional information before accepting these goods and may require specific packaging, handling arrangements, an appropriate vehicle or additional insurance.
Priority X reserves the right to refuse any consignment that we reasonably believe cannot be transported safely or legally.
Dangerous Goods
Do not book dangerous or hazardous goods without contacting us first.
Certain materials are subject to specific transport laws and safety requirements. If you are unsure whether your goods are classified as dangerous, restricted or hazardous, please contact us before making a booking.
Failure to disclose the true nature of a consignment may result in the collection or delivery being refused or cancelled. The customer may also be responsible for reasonable costs or liabilities resulting from incorrectly declared goods.
Packaging Is Your Responsibility
Unless we have specifically agreed to provide a packing service, all goods must be appropriately packaged and secured before our driver arrives.
Packaging should be suitable for the item’s:
- size;
- weight;
- fragility;
- contents; and
- method of transportation.
Our drivers may refuse to collect goods that are inadequately packaged or that could reasonably present a risk to the driver, vehicle, other goods or the public.
Not Sure If We Can Carry It?
If you’re unsure whether Priority X can transport your item, contact us before booking.
Tell us what the item is, its approximate dimensions and weight, and whether it has any hazardous, fragile or unusual characteristics.
Email: bookings@priorityx.co.uk
We’ll confirm whether we’re able to transport it and whether any special arrangements are required.
